KAL is an ELECTRONIC NON-GOVERNMENTAL ORGANIZATION (e-NGO) and has been initiated on independent volunteering bases as a global open network since 1993. Members with skills in linguistic, and information technology are sharing their thoughts around Kurdish linguistic issues. They seek information, solutions and focus on a future for better understanding of the Kurdish language. KAL is a community of people who has responded to this crucial question of our society.

Even when he was little, his parents could tell that their shy and somewhat reclusive boy was different from the rest of the village boys. They were mostly the rough type, climbing trees and rocks and chasing the animals and often bringing their parents a great deal of trouble. He, by contrast, kept mostly to himself. For prolonged periods of time he would gaze intensely at the sky, the rain, and the surrounding mountains. And the stories the men told by the fire or on the rooftop under a crisp, starry summer night made the youngster dream of things he had never seen.

A strong expression of the antiquity, cultural continuity, and distinctiveness of Kurds is the Kurdish language itself. There have been several theories and assumptions regarding the Kurdish language: its independence, origins, and mode of existence. It was not only ignorance, as Edmunds has rightly asserted (Edmunds, 1957:7), which made some Western colonial travellers in Kurdistan in the 19th century describe the Kurdish language as a corrupt form of Persian or a motley of Persian, Arabic, and Turkic language.

Abstract
Phonological adjustments are such processes as assimilation, dissimilation, deletion, insertion, and linking. As a result of these processes, the sound segments go under partial or fundamental changes. In most languages, these adjustments do not lead to any difference in the orthographic form of the words after the adjustments are exerted, but the orthographic system of Kurdish does represent most of these adjustments.

Kurdish languages have a wide range of vocabulary. Sometimes there are more than ten current words for a single meaning in the Kurdish dictionaries, waiting to preoccupy readers' minds. But unhappily most of these diversities and varied kinds might be foreign loans. Routinely the original words are giving way to the loanwords and this process has a background as old as the oldest document pertaining to Kurdish has.

Dijmin û dagîrkerên kurd û Kurdistanê, bo ku kurdan ji cîwarê wan rahêlînin, pêşî dest bi wêrankirina zimanê wan kir û wek serencamekê ne tenê bi xak û welatê xwe lê bi zimanê xwe jî hatin dabeş kirin.
